T.A. The Pai Management Institute (TAPMI ) is a private autonomous business school in India. It was founded in 1980 and is located in the university city of Manipal in Karnataka. It is the fifth management institute in India with dual accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and the Association of MBAs (AMBA).


Established in 1980 in Manipal by Shri. TA Pai, TAPMI's first two-year residential PGDM program, began in 1984-85 with a lot size of 48.

It also has two year BKFS (Banking and Financial Services), HR (Human) courses on Resource and Sales Management (Marketing and Sales).

TAPMI was recognized on April 29, 2012 by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business and the Association of MBAs


TAPMI's programs include a two-year postgraduate degree in management, including specializing in human resources, banking and financial services, marketing and sales, a PhD program, and an 18-month joint MBA program from TAPMI and University of Dubai. TAPMI works with a number of business organizations to provide continuous learning and learning to their executives.

TAPMI conducts student and faculty exchanges with Sheffield Hallam University, UK, Macquarie University, Australia, and the Asian Institute of Management, Manila.


TAPMI was ranked 19th as "India's Best B School 2019" by Business Today and ranked 7th among private MBA institutions in India as "Top 150 Private MBA Institutions" by Outlook India.


Events run by student committees include the TAPMI Quiz on the Beach ™, India's largest on-campus quiz event, Atharva, the annual international B-school festival Disha - the annual HR conclave 'Genesis', a cultural event that comes with great Styles is celebrated, and Brandscan organized in three formats: Urban (In Bangalore), Semi Urban (Manipal), Rural (Kundapura) to understand consumer behavior. The JoyFest (Joy of Giving), organized by TAPMI's Social Endeavor Group to help disadvantaged people, lasts for a week.

They also have fully student-managed investment forums, SAMNIDHY and SMIC, where students can get real-time experience of the stock markets.


Defi, the OMEGA (Organization for Managerial) flagship event (Entrepreneurial Guidance and Assistance), a platform for students to put on their entrepreneurial hats and spend a few days gaining first-hand experience in running businesses. OMEGA is a student advisory wing. OMEGA supports and works with small and medium-sized companies, dealers who do business in and around Manipal, Udupi and Mangalore. The committee has expanded its advisory activities to provide services to Indian companies. Entrepreneurs turn to OMEGA with their problems or projects, and OMEGAns (student members) solve their problem or help them grow their business. The students also seek advice from the faculty members in solving the problems. OMEGA provides a platform for interaction between students and local entrepreneurs. The project carried out by OMEGA ranges from various operational issues to strategic decisions.


  • Pratibimb, the TAPMI e-magazine, is the conglomerate of the various specializations in the field of MBA (Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Systems and Operations).
  • UPDATE - Annual magazine published when convened with a comprehensive report on all activities and achievements of the institute, its faculty, employees, students and alumni.
  • TAPMI Research Newsletter every six months in March and September.
  • A newsletter covers various activities and events that have taken place in the TAPMI community. It covers the publications and awards of the faculty, students and alumni.
  • Alt + T is a monthly edition of the TAPMI Literature and Media Committee. It contains articles by professors and students on any subject of their choice.
