Configure and use Solo3 wireless headphones

Learn how to charge, pair, use, and reset your Solo3 wireless headphones.

Switch on the headphones and charge them

Press and hold the power button for 1 second to turn the headphones on or off.

Connect your headphones to a power source with the supplied micro USB cable to charge them. The battery indicator LEDs will flash while the headphones are charging. When the charging process is complete, all five LEDs light up continuously.

To check the battery status indicator, which shows the battery level and charge status, press and release the power button.

After a 2-hour charge, you can use your headphones for up to 40 hours, and after a 5-minute charge, up to 3 hours.

To save battery power or to use your headphones when the battery is empty, connect the RemoteTalk cable and use your headphones in wired mode.

Pair with an iPhone with iOS 10 or later

If you're using an iPhone with iOS 10 or later, follow these steps:

  1. Hold your headphones next to your unlocked iPhone.
  2. Press the on / off button on the headphones for 1 second.
  3. After a few seconds, your iPhone will prompt you to connect. If this doesn't happen, press the on / off button on the headphones for 5 seconds.
  4. Follow the instructions on your iPhone.

If you configure your headphones as described, they will be automatically recognized by your other devices that are signed in to iCloud and use iOS 10 or later, macOS Sierra or later, or watchOS 3 or later.

The headphones update automatically when you configure them with an iPhone running iOS 10 or later. If your headphones aren't paired with an iPhone with iOS 10 or later, you can use Beats Updater to update the firmware.

Pair with Mac or another device that uses bluetooth

If you have another Bluetooth device, follow these steps to pair the headphones with that device:

  1. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds. If the battery indicator is flashing, your headphones can be recognized.
  2. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your device. For example, on a Mac, choose System Preferences from the Apple menu (), then click Bluetooth. Make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
  3. Select your headphones from the list of Bluetooth devices found.

Pair with an Android device

If you have an Android device, follow these steps:

  1. Get the Beats app for Android.
  2. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds. If the battery indicator is flashing, your headphones can be recognized.
  3. Select "Connect" on the Android device.

Use the b key on the left earcup or, if you are using wired headphones, the middle button on the RemoteTalk cable.

  • To pause or resume a track, press once.
  • To skip to the next track, press twice. To skip to the previous track, press three times.
  • To fast-forward within a track, press twice and hold the second press. To rewind within a track, press three times, then hold the third press.

Change volume

To control the playback volume, use the volume buttons on the left earcup or on the RemoteTalk cable. The volume of calls is controlled using the volume buttons on your iPhone.

  • Briefly press the volume up button once or press and hold the button to continuously increase the volume.
  • Briefly press the Volume Down button once, or hold down the button to continuously decrease the volume.

To control phone calls, use the b key on the left earcup or the middle button on the RemoteTalk cable.

  • To answer or end a call, press once.
  • To answer a second incoming call and put the first call on hold, press once. When two calls are active, you can switch back and forth between the calls.
  • To reject an incoming call, press and hold the button for a second.
  • To stop listening in the headphones and transfer the call to your mobile phone, press twice.


Hands-free operation

To activate Siri on your iOS device or to activate the voice command function on another device, use the b button on the left earcup or the middle button on the RemoteTalk cable. Hold down the button until you hear a beep, then say what you want.

Reset headphones

If you have problems with sound, bluetooth, or charging your headphones, you can reset them.
