Over 30 million records sold, two number one albums, well over 25 of the world's most coveted music prizes - the rapper has already celebrated quite a few successes in his career. Curtis James Jackson, the rapper's native name, did not have an easy and carefree childhood. On the contrary, 50 Cent grew up in poor conditions. His mother gave birth to the entertainer when she was just 15 years old and half a child herself. She earned her living as a street drug dealer. The musician was only eight when his mother was murdered in her apartment. Fifty grew up sheltered with his grandparents, but still got on the wrong track and followed in his mother's footsteps at the age of only eleven. After Eminem and Dr. Dre discovered in 2002, things went uphill for the 40-year-old.

Lil Wayne went one step further and became a dad for the first time at the tender age of 15. For his four children he wants to be the father he never had himself.
