Hormone yoga is a holistic exercise method to harmonize the female hormone balance. It has an activating and balancing effect on the hormone-producing glands, especially on the ovaries, pituitary, thyroid and adrenal glands. This form of natural therapy was developed by the Brazilian psychologist and yoga teacher Dinah Rodrigues to help women with menopausal symptoms. However, it is suitable for all women with hormone-related complaints: With underactive thyroid and Hashimoto's, premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and cysts (PCOS), premature monopause, as well as with extremely painful, absent or irregular menstruation. This form of yoga can also have a supportive effect if you want to have children. In general, hormone yoga is recommended for all women aged 35 and over, because hormone levels start to change at this age. In the case of classic symptoms that occur during menopause (e.g. heat waves or inner restlessness), women often notice an amazing relief of their symptoms after a short time of practicing. Beyond menopause, the exercises serve to maintain well-being and vitality, as well as to prevent the effects of menopause such as osteoporosis and high cholesterol. In this workshop the series of exercises is carefully built up step by step and adapted to individual needs. We learn physical exercises, breathing exercises and techniques for directing attention. Previous knowledge of yoga is not required. Our goal is for the participants to be able to practice the exercises independently and safely at home. Many of the exercises are dynamic and have an energizing effect, at the same time the program also includes relaxation exercises and anti-stress techniques, because persistent stress often brings our hormonal system out of balance. In addition, information about the causes of hormonal imbalances as well as practical tips on diet and lifestyle are passed on. The participants receive written documents that are included in the course fee. The final 2.5-hour check-in appointment (in January 2020 by arrangement) offers the opportunity to refresh your knowledge and clarify any uncertainties that may arise while practicing at home.Please note: Because hormone yoga has a very stimulating effect, it should not be practiced during pregnancy, with hyperthyroidism and cancer (especially hormone-related breast cancer), advanced endometriosis and acute fibroids, severe osteoporosis, heart disease and inflammation in the abdomen, as well as in the first 3 months after an abdominal surgery. In the case of illnesses that require treatment, the attending physician should always be consulted. Christiane Braun About herself: 51 years old, lecturer and yoga teacher, married and mother of two daughters I gave myself my first yoga class on my 40th birthday. At that time I was mainly looking for relaxation and had no idea that yoga would not let me go from now on. In 2016 I completed my first yoga teacher training (200h Anusara with Lalla and Vilas Turske), since then I have been sharing my joy in yoga in my classes and continuing my education regularly (including 80h Anusara Strength and Grace with Barbra Noh and 50h Yin Yoga Anatomy and Meditation with Helga Baumgartner and Pema Wangchen). Three years ago I graduated from Dr. Claudia Turske also trained as a hormone yoga teacher. Since then I have given numerous courses for women with all kinds of life stories. I am very happy to be able to share this wealth of experience. Today yoga means much more to me than moving the body on the mat and mentally calming down. On the yoga path I learn every day to face life with more compassion and serenity. I can hardly imagine a more beautiful gift.
