What were your greatest epiphanies in music production

Music reception, music distribution and music production

Introduction

The music industry's value-added network has undergone a major change: Sound record sales are falling sharply, and new forms of music distribution are establishing themselves as business models for music exploitation. These symptoms of change are not just processes that are changing the music industry and its distribution system, but a far-reaching structural break that is also completely redesigning music production and reception.

In their contributions, the authors of this volume trace the change processes from the perspective of their various scientific disciplines. The spectrum ranges from musicology to music sociology, cultural and media studies to economics and thus shows the current state of music business research in German-speaking countries in a comprehensive and multi-perspective manner.
