The EYE-FRIENDLY seal distinguishes LED light sources with a very high quality of light. The three main criteria "natural color rendering", "almost flicker-free" and "minimal blue component" are explained in more detail below.

Natural color rendering:

The color rendering index (Ra or CRI) describes the color rendering and thus provides information about the quality of light. This indicates how realistic the colors of an illuminated object appear in the light of the lamp. The highest value of the color rendering is Ra = 100. A lamp with this value makes all the colors of our environment appear most natural. The lower the Ra value, the worse the colors of the illuminated object are reproduced. Eight indices, which stand for individual colors, are measured and an average value is formed for the purpose of dimensioning.

All good & cheap LED lamps of the latest generation have a very high Ra value.

Almost flicker-free:

Strong frequency fluctuations in the low Hz range (<60Hz) can be seen with the naked eye. These fluctuations can have a major impact on personal well-being. Flickering is perceptible in the peripheral field of vision up to a frequency of 100 Hz. How much this flicker is perceived also depends on the environment.

All good & cheap LED lamps of the latest generation are almost flicker-free.

Minimum blue component:

Depending on the light color, LED lamps have a higher or lower proportion of blue in the light. The proportion of blue light is created by mixing different fluorescent substances in order to create a certain light color with the LED chip. This blue component is responsible for a number of processes taking place in the body.

For example, the melatonin balance (sleep hormone in the human body) is disrupted, which can result in sleep disorders.

Compared to standard 4000K or 6500K lamps, LED lamps with a light color of 2700K have less blue in the spectrum.

All good & cheap LED lamps of the latest generation contain a minimal amount of blue.
