1. Accept that English is a strange language
Sometimes you can find patterns in English grammar, but sometimes English doesn't make any sense at all. For example, why "read"(Reed) and"read”(Red) is the same word but pronounced differently depending on whether you are speaking in the past or present? Or why is "mice”The plural of“mouse", but "houses"Is the plural of"house“?
Unfortunately, there are just as many exceptions as there are rules in the English language. It's easy to get mad learning how to speak English properly and trying to figure out a reason for everything. Sometimes English is strange and inexplicable, so it's best to memorize the weird exceptions and move on.
2. Take a deep dive
One hour of English lessons once a week is usually not enough to really make any progress. The best way to quickly improve your English is to practice at least a few minutes each day. As much as possible, dive in as you study and challenge yourself to hear, read, and even say things that you think are too difficult. If you want to be fluent in English, you need to make it an integral part of your everyday life.
3. Stop being a student
The right mindset can mean the difference between success and failure. Stop thinking of yourself as someone who knows English learns, and start thinking of yourself as someone who speaks English speaks. It's a small change, but you will feel more confident and make better use of the English you already speak.
It also means that you have to start thinking in English. For example, if you use the word "appleIf you want to say ”in English, you will probably think of the word in German first and then try to find the right word in English. Instead, try to imagine a picture of an apple and then just think of the English word "apple". Real eloquence comes when you stop mentally translating conversation.
4. Remember, the answer is in the question
Listen carefully when someone asks you a question in English and you will answer perfectly every time. English questions are like mirrors:
Does he ... ..? Yes, he does.
Can she ....? Yes, she can.
Is it ....? Yes, it is.
When someone asks you a question and you're not sure how to answer, first think about the words used in the question. The person has already said most of the words you need to give your answer. Instead of just memorizing English grammar, start looking for patterns like this one. There are many simple options "to cheat”And make it easier to remember the right words.
5. Listen better
When most students listen to a native English speaker, they focus on understanding what the words mean. This is definitely important, but there is a lot more that can be learned from listening. In addition to listening to understand the meaning, listen to what words the person is using. Note which words the person puts together in a sentence or when they "ya" instead of "you”Says. Try to remember these details the next time you speak, and your English will sound more natural.
Easier said than done, right? When you hear native English speakers, it can be difficult to understand every word spoken. They may use a lot of words you don't know, speak too quickly, or have a heavy accent.

6. Use It or Lose It
There is an English phrase: “Ube it or lose it“Which basically means if you don't practice a skill, you can forget about it. This idea can help you remember new English vocabulary. The best way to do that is with a learned word right awayto use and add to your vocabulary. When you learn a new word, use it over and over over time so that you don't forget it again.
7. Learn sentences
Speaking English fluently will help you express your thoughts, feelings, and ideas. Your goal is to speak English in full sentences. So why not learn in full sentences? You will find that English is more useful in your everyday life when you learn full sentences rather than just vocabulary and verbs. Start by thinking about sentences that you use frequently in German, and then learn how to say them in English.
8. Don't learn too much grammar
The key to learning a language is finding a balance between learning and practicing. Speaking English fluently is not the same as mastering grammar perfectly - even native English speakers make grammatical mistakes! Fluency means being able to communicate. This is why it is sometimes important to put the grammar textbook away so you can practice writing, reading, listening, and speaking skills in the real world.
9. Don't be afraid of making mistakes
Sometimes it can be difficult to summarize all of these rules and words in one simple sentence. Don't let fear of saying something wrong stop you from speaking at all. Even if you think you are making a mistake, keep talking anyway. Most of the time, even if you make a mistake, people will understand what you are trying to say. The more you speak, the easier it will be and the faster you will come up with the right words.
10. Learn from everyone
You don't have to learn English just from textbooks and teachers - anyone who speaks English can help you practice. Imagine how you would feel if someone asked you how to pronounce something in your native language? Would you be mad No! You would probably like to help, as most English speakers will help you. Whenever you speak English to someone, whether it is a friend or a colleague, always take the opportunity to practice and learn from them.
